John McManus, author of Hell Before Their Very Eyes: American Soldiers Liberate Concentration Camps in Germany, April 1945, will visit the to present, “The Holocaust: Liberators, Survivors, and Restitution.” He will discuss his research into the liberation of the concentration camps by American soldiers and the experiences of the soldiers in WWII. McManus will be accompanied by two other presenters: Shannon Fogg, chair of History at and Rachel Goldman Miller, a Holocaust survivor.
Fogg will discuss the looting of Jewish apartments in Paris during WWII and the process of how survivors rebuilt their lives after the war. Miller will talk about her personal experience of the Holocaust and serve on an open discussion panel following the presentations.
