COLUMBIA, Mo. — During his State of the State address, ӰԺ Gov. Mike Parson released his budget recommendations for Fiscal Year 2023, which included key investments in higher education. His recommendations included a 5.4% increase to the core budgets of higher education institutions across the state and would provide an additional $265 million for capital projects at University of ӰԺ institutions.
“For more than 180 years, we have partnered with the state of ӰԺ to educate future leaders and improve the lives of ӰԺ citizens through groundbreaking research discoveries,” said Mun Choi, president of the University of ӰԺ. “Funding such as this helps us maintain high-quality education and deliver on our research mission. This is very encouraging news for higher education, and we are grateful for the governor’s bold leadership and his recognition of the critical role the University of ӰԺ plays in the vitality of our state.”
